What’s Ahead in 2019

Happy New Year, friends! 2018 is (finally) behind us and I’m feeling excited to start new projects while that 20-BI-teen energy is still flowing. Because I haven’t been on this blog much over the last two years, I wanted to give you guys a preview of what’s ahead for me and this space in 2019.

First of all, I want to write more book reviews! Currently, I am posting most of my reviews on my Goodreads page and on Edelweiss, but one of my goals for 2019 is to compile more previews of the YA books I’m most excited for each season. To kick us off, I want to put together a spring 2019 spotlight post within the next few weeks, so stay tuned for that.

Second, as my writing projects continue into the new year, I want to share more about my current work-in-progress and about what I’ve learned about writing craft from my (many painful) years of practice and my work as a bookseller. Depending on how well I juggle my job and my writing this year, I also want to start writing and posting short stories. We’ll see!

While we’re being creative, I might dip my toes back into art. I’ve always loved drawing, and even though it isn’t my strongest suit, I want to try to go back to it. If I make anything good, I’ll share it here!

Lastly, there are some big steps I want to try to take this year professionally. (My very first one was buying this domain name!) Although I can’t talk about all of them – at least not yet – I will be using this space to make any announcements and hopefully share good news.

Thank you to everyone who follows me on social media (especially my Twitter, where I’m most active) and who has commented on my blog posts in the past. Your support not only keeps me on these platforms, but encourages me to keep working and creating. I hope all of you have a fulfilling, kick-ass 2019!
